On Friday 14th February, Kings Place was delighted to host a secret guerrilla gig from one of the world’s most iconic artists – Prince.
Following on from surprise shows at Camden’s Electric Ballroom and Shepherd’s Bush Empire, 3RDEYEGIRL, the singer’s backing band, officially announced the gig at only 6.30pm by tweeting our address out to the world.
This tweet was then followed by a second and third simply saying “KINGS PLACE: NOW!!!” Within a matter of minutes there was a queue out of the building and down the road, with fans desperate to get their hands on tickets for what ended up being two back-to-back shows in our main auditorium, Hall One.
“We are absolutely delighted that Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL chose Kings Place for this performance”, says Lucy Wright Business Development Director of Kings Place Events, “With confirmation from the artist coming just 12 hours before doors, our team worked throughout the day to deliver an unforgettable experience for fans. With concert goers quick to praise the building and staff, I think this event underlines how flexible and versatile we are as a building. We have a fantastic team and fantastic spaces that are up for any challenge whether it’s a concert or corporate conference.”
If you fancy following in Prince’s footsteps, Hall One can seat 400 people and is available for hire for conferences, product launches, AGMs, and a host of other events, alongside 10 other unique event spaces in Kings Place.
