THE PROGRAMME

The Kings Place music and arts programme boasts a diversity which reflects the uniqueness of the building as a whole.

Regular Nights – Plan your week in the knowledge that excellence is just an escalator ride away here in Kings Place. Monday’s are lit-up by the experimental contemporary sounds of Out Hear as well as the Words on Monday series, which introduces authors and discussions. Gear-up for a good laugh on Thursday with comedy in the form of the Off with Their Heads! series, from sketch to stand-up to musical comedy. Folk fans descend on a Friday for Folk Union, which brings a mixture of the traditional and the modern. Saturday means the best of Jazz with The Base series and then round off the week with Sunday’s London Chamber Music Society. Not So Silent Movies… is a regular monthly visitor on Sunday afternoons and is the place for you if you want to witness spontaneous improvisation to classic silent films with special guests such as Tim Minchin.

Curated Weeks – Then there are the weekly curatorships, artistic centre-pieces where the Halls atKings Place are taken over by musicians, conductors and specialists in their field. These curated weeks ensure a unique identity for the building and range from the literary depth of Jewish Book Week to the January pick-me up of the London A Cappella Festival, as well as playing host to the London Jazz Festival, LIFEM and London Guitar Festival amongst many many others.

Bach Unwrapped Series – The phenomenon that was Johann Sebastian Bach never ceases to be a source of wonder: this modest cantor spent his life in one part of East Germany, producing extraordinary music at a superhuman rate with little recognition, constantly adapting to limited resources and talents. Bach Unwrapped at Kings Place, is our largest annual series to date with over 70 concerts, interactive events and study days. .

Kings Place Festival – The Kings Place Festival, which takes place each September, packs a year’s worth of music, food, drink, spoken word and family fun into the space of just a four days! Experience the best of the venue’s programme with over a hundred individual events. The Festival is a great way to get acquainted with this award-winning building or, for the regulars, a chance to experience the high quality of performers for which Kings Place is rapidly gaining a reputation.
