Our catering partners, Green & Fortune, are B Corp certified!
By Green & Fortune achieving B Corp certification, they join a global movement of businesses using their influence as a force for good.
Since day one, they have stayed true to their values, growing their business without ever compromising on what matters most.
We’re proud to work with a partner who shares our commitment to responsible practices and exceptional hospitality. Through incredible food and drink, they help create unforgettable moments and memories for our clients every day. Achieving B Corp certification formally recognises these efforts and reflects the values that underpin their approach to hospitality.
What is a B Corp?
B Corp is a globally recognised certification awarded to businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. The certification is managed by B Lab, which assesses companies across a wide range of areas including governance, employees, community impact and environmental practices. The process is voluntary and rigorous, examining how a business operates as a whole rather than focusing on a single initiative. Companies that achieve this certification become part of the global B Corp movement. This is a growing community of organisations committed to balancing profit with purpose and using business as a force for positive change.
Why is this a positive impact for Kings Place Events hospitality?
Green & Fortune’s achievement recognises the company’s long-standing commitment to responsible business practices. They have undergone a rigorous assessment of the company’s social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Sustainability has always been central to the way Green & Fortune approach catering at Kings Place Events.
Menu Development
Reducing food waste and food miles is high on Green & Fortune’s agenda and many of our menu options are created with this in mind.
Two of their signature concepts ‘Chef’s Choice’ and ‘Food for Thought’ showcase this philosophy. Chef’s Choice menus allow the kitchen team to work with the very best of what’s available and in stock. Used across canapés and bowl food, this flexible approach enables the chefs to select produce at its peak whilst reducing waste.
Food for Thought is Green & Fortune’s dedicated sustainability-led menu. If you’re keen to send out a stronger message about food sustainability through the catering at your event, this is the menu to consider. The dishes have been created to use underused ingredients, ingredients that might otherwise go to waste and in some cases dishes that heavily minimise waste. Designed to highlight whole-produce cooking, there are items on the menu including ‘Slow cooked Texel lamb, cauliflower rice, charred cauliflower steams, wild garlic and heritage tomato’ which uses responsibly sourced lamb from our farm and uses the whole cauliflower. The Food for Thought concept can be adapted across a variety of event styles, including canapés, bowl food and seated dining, allowing clients to host events that are mindful of their environmental impact.
Suppliers & Corneyside Farm
At Kings Place Events, responsible sourcing sits at the heart of the menus created by Green & Fortune. They have their own farm, Corneyside Farm in Northumberland. All the beef and lamb that we serve in our venue is sourced here. The farm provides full visibility from farm to fork, with grass-fed cattle and lamb reared naturally before the meat is hung and prepared by the on-site butchery team at Kings Place. This approach not only ensures exceptional quality but also reinforces a commitment to traceability, animal welfare and reduced food miles. Alongside the farm, Green & Fortune works with a network of carefully selected independent suppliers such as Old Spike for all our coffee and Angry Monk as one of our suppliers who rescue ‘wonky’ vegetables, all chosen because they share the same commitment to responsible sourcing and long-term sustainability.
Community
Alongside their commitment to sustainability, Green & Fortune are also dedicated to powering their people. As an accredited London Living Wage employer, they ensure our hospitality and operations team are paid fairly for the important work they do. The business is also actively involved in charitable initiatives and community projects, reflecting a wider commitment to making a positive impact beyond the workplace. Each year at Kings Place, they host a St Patrick’s Day celebration in support of two charities close to their hearts: the London Irish Centre and Hospitality Action. This event brings people together to part raise funds and awareness for hospitality Actions; an organisation that provides vital support within our industry. Kings Place is also home to Kings Place Music Foundation, a registered charity who run the artistic. Hosting your events with Kings Place Events, supports the Kings Place Music Foundation.
Why B Corp Certification Matters
